Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account: your email address, used for sign-in and service messages.
• Beauty profile: skin tone, undertone, eye shape, face shape, skin type, and concerns you choose to save. All optional.
• Collection & verdicts: products you save and the verdicts you request, so the service can check new buys against what you own.
• Photos: images you upload or snap are sent to our AI provider to identify products and generate your verdict. We do not store your photos after processing.
• Usage & billing: verdict counts (for the free tier) and subscription status. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
• Preferences: your language choice, stored in a cookie on your device.

2. How we use it

We use your data only to operate ShadeDash: authenticating you, personalizing verdicts, enforcing usage limits, processing subscriptions, and improving the service. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Who processes your data

• Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account, profile, collection, and verdicts).
• Anthropic — AI provider that generates verdicts and identifies products from photos you submit.
• Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions.
• Vercel — hosting infrastructure.
• Amazon — when you tap a “Shop on Amazon” link, Amazon receives the product reference through our affiliate tag (not your profile data).

Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us, under their own privacy terms.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies: authentication session cookies (required to stay signed in) and a language-preference cookie. We do not use advertising trackers.

5. Data security & retention

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our infrastructure providers’ security controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow industry-standard practices. We retain your account data while your account is active; you may request deletion at any time (see below).

6. Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time — most of it is editable directly in the app (profile, collection). To delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@shadedash.com and we will process your request promptly.

7. Children

ShadeDash is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves; the “Last updated” date above will reflect changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
